How do watch states work in Chillio?
Chillio intelligently tracks and syncs your watch progress across devices while avoiding clutter.
Chillio uses a smart watch state system that keeps your progress in sync across profiles and devices. Start watching on one device, switch to another, and continue exactly where you left off.
Understanding how it works helps ensure everything feels seamless.

🧠Smart watch state protection (anti-clutter)
To avoid messy or accidental watch history when browsing or channel surfing, Chillio enforces minimum watch durations before content is saved:
- Live Channels: must be watched for 2.5+ minutes
- Movies & TV Shows: must be watched for 1.5+ minutes
This prevents clutter when quickly zapping through content and saves you from having to manually clean up later.

🔄 Sync behavior across devices
Watch state updates are loaded when:
- The app launches
- You switch profiles
⚠️ Running the same profile on multiple devices at the same time can make syncing appear inconsistent. Chillio is designed to be used naturally—forcing sync tests across active devices may lead to confusion, not actual issues.

đź”— Trakt integration (optional but powerful)
Trakt works as a complementary system to Chillio’s watch state manager:
- Syncs watch history and progress to and from Trakt
- Enables continuity with other apps that support Trakt
Trakt does not support, live channels or unrecognized or custom content. For those, Chillio continues to rely on its native watch state manager.
