I want to take a moment to talk about something many of you have asked about: Chillio’s pricing. This isn’t just about numbers — it’s about vision, values, sustainability, and what makes Chillio a completely different kind of media app.

🌟 Why Chillio Is Unlike Anything Else

From day one, I’ve built Chillio without shortcuts. Every design, feature, and pixel was created as if there were no limits — no cost restrictions, no cut corners, and no compromises. The goal was simple: build the app I’ve always wanted to use, and do it in a way that redefines what a modern IPTV experience could look like.

This meant not just slapping a UI over an M3U playlist. Chillio runs on a powerful backend — something almost no other IPTV player has — which enables:

Chillio’s backend handles caching, syncing, and personalization without asking you to log in. That’s intentional — no friction, no setup delay.

But this comes at a real cost: infrastructure, hosting, media processing, and constant development.

💰 About the Price

Chillio originally launched with a $49.99/year premium plan — a fair price given its depth, reliability, and unique tech stack. But after public feedback, negative App Store reviews, and frequent comparisons to less capable (but cheaper) apps, I made the tough decision to reduce it to $29.99/year — just $0.08/day.

That price barely covers running costs. While I am still 100% committed, this pricing decision does slow down development, since it limits my ability to bring on more engineering help.

🤝 Why I Can’t Go Lower

Unless there’s a limited-time promotion to reach new users or specific communities, I want to be honest — lowering the price further would mean the project can’t survive. It would tell me there’s no sustainable market for a high-quality IPTV app like this.

That’s not something I want to believe.

I know there are cheaper apps out there. I know some of you simply can’t afford subscriptions, and to you, I say this with love: I see you, I value you, and I’m actively working to improve the freemium experience as best I can — without sacrificing quality for premium users.
